Sustainable Development Goal 5 of 17
Women and girls should have equal rights, safety, choices and leadership opportunities.

Women and girls should have the same rights, safety, choices and opportunities as men and boys. This includes ending violence and harmful practices, recognising unpaid care work, protecting health and reproductive rights, and ensuring women can lead and make decisions.
A qualified woman should have a fair chance to lead a project and be safe from harassment while doing so.
These are areas of action within the goal, not a complete list of its UN targets.
Safety from violence and harmful practices
Equal rights and a voice in decisions
Recognition of unpaid care and domestic work
Reducing inequality means removing barriers that exclude women and girls.
