Sustainable Development Goal 14 of 17
Protect ocean life and use marine resources without exhausting them.

Oceans support food, livelihoods and the natural systems that keep the planet healthy. This goal addresses plastic and other pollution, damage to marine habitats, overfishing and the need to use ocean resources without destroying them for future generations.
Keeping waste out of a river can also protect the sea it flows into and the people who depend on coastal fishing.
These are areas of action within the goal, not a complete list of its UN targets.
Preventing plastic and other marine pollution
Protecting coastal and underwater habitats
Fishing in ways that allow stocks to recover
Responsible production and waste management help keep pollution out of the sea.
