Sustainable Development Goal 16 of 17
People need safety, fair treatment and institutions they can trust.

People need to live without violence and be treated fairly by the institutions that serve them. This goal includes access to justice, protection of children, reducing corruption, trustworthy public decisions and the right for people to be heard. Peace and accountability make progress on other goals possible.
A clear, safe way to report abuse or misuse of public funds helps people seek a response without being ignored.
These are areas of action within the goal, not a complete list of its UN targets.
Reducing violence and protecting children
Fair access to justice and public information
Accountable decisions and less corruption
Fair institutions can remove barriers that leave some groups unheard.
